Good Thursday Morning,
I wanted to provide schedule updates for the 2021 Spring Parent teacher-conferences. Our parent-teacher conferences will be conducted virtually similar to the fall.
Exira-EHK will not have early dismissals on Tuesday, March 16th and Thursday, March 18th. These will be full school days.
Wednesday, March 17th, will still be an early dismissal for professional development.
Friday, March 19th; Monday, March 22nd; and Tuesday, March 23rd, we will not have school. This is our scheduled short spring break.
Wednesday, March 24th, will be a FULL day of school.
Thank you for your flexibility and understanding during this school year. I will keep everyone up to date with any future calendar changes.
Trevor Miller-Superintendent

Mrs. Harris

Parents and Guardians,
Congratulations to the Exira-EHK Girls Basketball Team for earning a trip to the Iowa Girls State Basketball Tournament with their win over Lenox last night! This is an amazing opportunity for these ladies and we as a school and community want to support them in their journey, by giving our students, staff, and community the ability to attend the games.
Our quarterfinal match against MMCRU will take place at 4:00PM on Wednesday, March 3rd. We will dismiss students at 12:20/12:30, bus-riders/driver. Students driving over to Des Moines need to have a full driver’s license and not a school permit. School permits are only for home school activities and practices that take place at their home school practice locations.
If the girls win and advance to the semi-final round, the game will be played on March 5th at 2:00PM. We will have a virtual learning day for students and staff from 8:10 until 11:30. Students in each building will be responsible for attending, completing, and returning work or Google Meet sessions.
HS/MS Students:
• Teachers will conduct online, Google meetings with each class period. Schedule will be communicated on Monday, March 1st. This is counted toward attendance and if a student chooses to NOT attend the time will be made up during regular school hours.
• Teachers will provide an activity that meets educational standards and topics that will need to be completed by the next class period – Monday. March 8th.
Elementary Students:
• PK-2: Teachers will send home a packet of learning for students to complete and return to school on Monday, March 8th.
• 3-5: Teachers will hold “office time” to meet with students and provide a learning activity for students to complete by Monday, March 8th.
Information regarding state qualifying apparel will be communicated through school email and social media.
If you have questions or concerns, please contact your administration team.
