Our junior high Student Council officers planned and executed our first assembly of the year. Students signed up and competed in three different competitions: mummy wrap, candy relay, and pie eating. The overall winner for this assembly was the eighth grade winning two out of the three competitions. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and our Junior High Student Council committee is diligently planning the next assembly.

Teamwork
noun
"Cooperative or coordinated effort on the part of a group of persons acting together as a team or in the interests of a common cause." ~ Dictionary.com
Yesterday I experienced true teamwork. Being able to watch nine different schools, from across our conference come together as one large team to put on a wonderful festival is no easy task. For these students and directors to prepare their music leading up to this and have one chance to re-rehearse, it all takes a lot of skill and dedication.
I don't know where to start with thank you's, but if you were involved in anyway I thank you from the bottom of my heart! A few big thank you's go out to Dr. Timothy McMillin. Thank you for coming to our school and working with all of these students yesterday! They loved your knowledge and abilities. Thank you to Cindy Nichols, for your effort behind the piano! Without an accomplished accompanist, a day like this is NOT possible! Thank you to our janitorial staff, kitchen staff, and secretarial staff for their work throughout the day! Without them, this would not have happened! Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped in our kitchens in the evening to prepare a meal! All of these together make another form of teamwork that they don't even realize! Lastly, thank you to those who came and supported! Our students saw you, and were super appreciative!
Music is ALIVE AND WELL in the Rolling Valley Conference!!! Please continue to show your support and encouragement through their involvement! Just think...we could go from just over 100 kids in an event like this to over 200!
Thank you once again!
